Hi, my name is Sharmeen, and I’ve been living in Okinawa for the past year as a military spouse. I started singing at five years old, beginning with Tagore songs and Bengali classical music before moving into English music. I also write original songs, including a punk-rock song, and I feel that rock and punk rock suit my voice best. I play guitar while singing and, although I only know a few chords, I can use them to accompany many different songs. I also play basic piano and keyboard and previously worked as a vocal teacher. Music has always been a form of therapy for me, and I would love to join a local band. My father and brothers are well-known musicians in Bangladesh, so music has always been a big part of my family and my life.
