Hi, my name is Sharmeen, and I’ve been living in Okinawa for the past year as a military spouse. I started singing at five years old, beginning with Tagore songs and Bengali classical music before moving into English music. I also write original songs, including a punk-rock song, and I feel that rock and punk rock suit my voice best. I play guitar while singing and, although I only know a few chords, I can use them to accompany many different songs. I also play basic piano and keyboard and previously worked as a vocal teacher. Music has always been a form of therapy for me, and I would love to join a local band. My father and brothers are well-known musicians in Bangladesh, so music has always been a big part of my family and my life. I’ll be in Okinawa for another two years, and this is my second time living in Japan—I previously lived in Iwakuni. Please feel free to reach out if you’re looking for a female vocalist
